Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, has launched the Mumbai chapter of Galaxy Empowered, a community-led programme designed to transform classrooms by equipping teachers, principals and school administrators with advanced digital tools and modern pedagogies.

The initiative, which successfully trained over 2,700 teachers across 250 schools in New Delhi, is now expanding to Mumbai—India’s financial and education hub—with the goal of empowering 20,000 teachers nationwide by 2025.

The launch event, attended by more than 350 educators from 250 schools across Maharashtra and neighbouring states, was graced by Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Maharashtra’s Minister of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Innovation; Shri Vishal V. Sharma, India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNESCO; and Shri Himanshu Gupta, Secretary of CBSE.

“By empowering teachers, we will shape society’s future together, and India will rise to new heights,” said Minister Lodha, praising Samsung’s commitment to professional development in education.

The programme is built on three pillars: AI and technology upskilling through online modules and bootcamps; experiential learning and certification via workshops and mentorship; and peer networking to build long-term professional communities. Participation is free, with educators also gaining access to exclusive Samsung offers on devices and services.

According to Raju Pullan, senior vice-president, MX Business, Samsung India, Mumbai marks a crucial milestone in the company’s mission to inspire curiosity and drive change in classrooms across the country.

Shri Vishal V. Sharma highlighted that Galaxy Empowered supports India’s NEP 2020 vision and UNESCO’s SDG4 goals by investing in teachers, while CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta noted the importance of AI in enhancing lesson design, assessment and classroom engagement.

Educators in Mumbai can now register for upcoming workshops and digital training sessions via Samsung’s official platform.
