The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled 14 new Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) to strengthen teacher training and professional development across its affiliated schools. The initiative, announced at the National Teachers’ Conference 2025 in Patna, is scheduled to commence in October.

The programmes, to be delivered through CBSE’s Centres of Excellence under the Prashikshan Triveni initiative, are designed to enhance subject knowledge, introduce innovative teaching tools, and promote effective classroom practices.

Key modules include training in Hindi, Sanskrit and Painting for the secondary stage; competency-based assessment in Social Science, Science and Mathematics; and a modular CBP in Economics for Class 12. Other programmes focus on value education through sports, as well as interdisciplinary strategies for integrating STEM education across all stages.

According to CBSE, the CBPs aim to align teacher preparation with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by fostering inclusive, practical and holistic approaches to learning.

“These programmes represent a significant step towards improving learning outcomes, motivating teachers and enriching student engagement in CBSE schools,” the Board said in a statement.
