In simple to clear up in a word. “Yes”
There are multiple reasons why there is a change in quality among job seekers.

1. Candidates who arent attended their college sessions properly, Started attending interviews.

2. Unprofessional way of attending virtual interviews

3. Unwilling to attend walk-in drives

4. Over assumption of packages

5. Malfunctions during Interviews

1.  Candidates who arent attended their college sessions properly, Started attending interviews.

Irrespective of irregularities caused due to pandemic all colleges got ready for the placement season for the last 2 years 2021 and 2022. So the question arises are you sending a good quality of candidates for the placements. Candidates who are good at their labs and practical exams of course cracked from the top universities and the rest created a dump of unemployment blocks everywhere. A Degree just isn’t about a certificate and it teaches you a lot excluding the book knowledge. when a candidate cannot get those he/she won’t be confident enough to attend the interviews. This clear gap is created by Covid and will become a nightmare for years for these batches

2. Unprofessional way of attending virtual interviews

Being a No.1 Job site for Freshers in India. We keep doing assisted hiring for top MNC. You don’t believe from 2020 we start watching candidates attending virtual rounds on roads or at places where they cannot control the background noises. When usually a candidate isn’t serious about what he is applying for or if he/she isn’t excited about the opportunity this issue is a never-ending issue for them. This is a pure unprofessional ethic created during this period

3. Unwilling to attend walk-in drives

Sir is this job has work from home option? For a Top MNC tech support role, we have observed under 5 are turning up for walk-ins. The reality of few projects are very confidential and project details cannot be shared openly so few organizations and few company structures that need manpower cannot make their works as work from home. It’s quite surprising from candidates irrespective of the increase in unemployment. candidates stopped attending walk-in drives. Soon from mid-2022 expect a change in this area. Here a few candidates still got stuck at homes frightening about the pandemic.

4. Over assumption of packages

Candidates stopped applying for jobs that are under 3 LPA. But being a fresher rather than losing an opportunity you should start applying for jobs. You never know a recruiter can offer you more salary during the final round or you never know the growth line if you choose such company, So we suggest a job seeker should give more priority for his growth line for the next 10 years rather picking up a job that pays high in the beginning of his career.

5. Malfunctions during Interviews

The ugliest fact is few batches have really malfunctioned the interview system and cracked their job interviews in the beginning of the pandemic. This further has been blocked by tightening up the way of conducting virtual rounds by various organizations.

Rather than talking about all these negatives, there are a few elements that improved the hiring process amidst covid. While naming a few, Technology-driven hiring, Hiring in a shorter time are proven examples that made Recruitment teams work on multiple virtual platforms that made their works easier.

Conclusion: The organizations started complaining about the quality. Job portals and Colleges are seriously working on improving this quality by conducting a pre-test before sending candidates for the first round of interviews. When the situation goes normal eventually the quality of the candidate starts improving.
