With the global green economy expected to generate 50 million new jobs by 2030, the Mobius Foundation hosted a high-impact workshop, “Next-Gen Green Career Pathways: Explore, Connect, Grow”, during the 7th International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE 2025) at the India Habitat Centre.

The half-day event attracted students, young professionals and youth leaders keen to channel their passion for sustainability into meaningful careers. Sessions highlighted opportunities across climate tech, renewable energy, circular economy, waste management, sustainable fashion, EV transportation, climate-smart agriculture and green construction.

The workshop featured diverse voices, from entrepreneurs and start-up founders to experts in climate finance, ESG, CSR and academia, offering participants both career guidance and networking opportunities. Giorgia Varisco, chief of UNICEF YuWaah, opened the session with a call to action for youth, while Philip Mathew of Magic Bus India Foundation shared stories of sustainable livelihoods. Karuna Singh, Regional Director of Earthday.org, underscored that “climate education is the passport to the future.”

Industry representatives included Aalekh Kapoor (Actor & Climate Advocate), Pooja Malhotra (ReJean – Sustainable Fashion), Alok Rai (Alarth Green – Renewable Energy), Manik Dhingra (Shoonya – Waste Management), Prerna Prasad (Ecoplore – Sustainable Tourism), Mohd Suhail (Athar Packaging – Sustainable Packaging), Shitiz Jha (Climate Finance/ESG Expert, Climate Trends) and Prathistha Kumari (Circular Economy Researcher, Mobius Foundation).

Priyanka Sharma, head – Programmes & Partnerships at the Mobius Foundation, said: “This workshop proved that young people are not just looking for jobs, they are looking for purpose. When you connect them with knowledge and mentors, you light a spark that can transform the economy.”

Participants left with actionable insights, mentorship connections and a renewed sense of purpose, reflecting ICSE 2025’s mission to equip youth for a sustainable, climate-resilient future.
